this and that

After a self-imposed hiatus from DIY/home decorating for a few months, we have decided to jump back on the HGTV train.  Here is what we have been up to over the last month or so.  (finally) finishing our headboard, hanging art/picture frames, landscaping the front yard, working on the backyard (still under construction), building a vegetable garden, putting up a swing set (best hand-me-down ever), and finally made our downstairs bathroom more "us"

Paul created and framed C's sihlouette and I framed our vows as our "crafty" anniversary gifts this year.

A BIG thanks to T and V for helping take down, put up, and pass down the swing set.

Chloe LOVES her new swing set!

We planted tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, peppers, and summer squash.

Chloe loves to be outside and isn't afraid to help and get dirty.

Our tiny bathroom went from dark red to smokey slate.
Home goals for the summer include an upstairs bathroom makeover, refinishing a dresser, and clearing out and cleaning more of the backyard.  Here's hoping we keep up the motivation!

My 29th

I had a wonderful birthday this year!  I, of course was treated really special on my big day.  Paul and Chloe got me a pair of shoes I had been eyeing and also surprised me with a vegetable garden.  Paul came home at lunch and got to work on it using Ask This Old House as his guide.  As I pulled into the driveway and opened the garage, I was surprised to see my dirty husband standing there.  I was so proud that Paul did all that hard work in one afternoon.  We then went to dinner at The Bay Diner for dinner and met Mom and Dad at Malley's for dessert.  On Saturday, Paul's parents and brother, Adam, came over for the night and we had hot dogs on the grill and hung out for the evening.  It was definitely a great way to celebrate my 29th birthday!

Mother's Day Fun!

We had a lot of fun this Sunday.  We started the day with Mommy sleeping in and getting presents in bed.  From there, we had Gramma, Bapa, Eddie and Jenny over for some brunch and fun.  After a little stroll to the lake, we headed to Gville to see Great-Grammy, Grammy and Grampy, Uncle Dan and Aunt Tori and Madi.  It was a great day that made some nice pictures.
